designed for all levels of competitors from the trackday

There are not many competitors or track day riders who
don’t come off the racetrack and immediately ask
‘what was my best time then?’ Sadly until
now many of them got an inaccurate answer if they got
one at all.
Now, thanks to technology, they can have the answer
as soon as they complete the lap and displayed for them
in their bike.
This is down to the availability in the UK of products
that have been widely used on the continent, the Alfano
range of dashboard displays.
They work by picking up a signal from a strip embedded
in the track surface, which starts a timer when it is
crossed for the first time.
Subsequent crossings determine the individual lap times,
which are immediately displayed on a clear to read digital
display. At the end of a session, the accumulated data
can be recalled to view or downloaded onto a laptop
for further analysis to show a complete lap by lap event
indicating all data including track mapping and theoretical
lap times, engine operating hours and distance covered.
