Thank you for enquiring about Racing Membership of the Darley Moor Club in 2018.The following notes will, I hope, help answer some of the questions you have about the Club. Championship Classes 2018


1. Formula 125cc Machines
2. Formula Darley for up to 400cc 4 stroke 4 cylinder, up to 600cc Four Stroke Single Cylinder and up to 250cc 2 stroke machines. Formula 125 machines not permitted.
3. Honda CB 500
4. Formula 600 for 351 to 600cc 4 stroke 4 cylinder and 675cc 4 stroke 3 cylinder production based machines. (ACU Formula 600 regulations apply)
5. Open solos 201 - 750cc 2 stroke and 600 - 1300cc 4 stroke machines (No Formula 600 machines but Open 600cc machines are eligible)
6 Classic Machines up to 250cc and Classic Machines 251 to 350cc
Classic machines up to 500cc and Classic Machines 501 to 1300cc
We will award separate Championship Points and Trophies per class but the Champion will be the Classic rider with the most number of points at the end of the season.
7. Mini Sound of Thunder over 300cc and not over 650cc 4 stroke machines with 1, 2 or three cylinders.
8 Any Pre - Injection solo machine up to 1300cc. Must have manufacturers original fuel supply system fitted.
9. Pre Injection 600 & Steel Framed 600's To ACU Formula 600 regulations
10. Peak Cup any solo machine up to 750cc two stroke or 1300cc four stroke that is entered in one of the above classes.
11 The Allcomers Cup for any machine up to 650cc twin cylinder four strokes entered in any of the above classes. ( No 600cc machines)
12 The Allcomers cup for 600cc and open class machines.
Classes 11 & 12 will be held after practice and will be one race of 10 laps for each class.
13a Open sidecars for any sidecar to 1300cc four stroke and 750cc two stroke. This class will include the Triumph 675cc TT class.
13b. Formula 600 Sidecars - complying with ACU Formula 600 Sidecar specifications.

There will be a time permitting handicap race for 2018 Solo Newcomers to Racing at all meetings except the Stars at Darley meeting.

The onus of eligibility for all classes rests with the rider.


Membership and Entry Fees 2018


On-line entries for Membership and Race Entries are now available @
For 2018 everyone will pay a Membership Fee of £10.00. Entry Fees for 2018 will be £130.00 for the first Solo Class and £40.00 for additional classes, the newcomers handicap will cost £15.00. The Allcomers Cup will cost £25.00. For Sidecars the Entry Fee will be £150.00. We regret having to put Entry Fees up but we are experiencing large increases in ACU Permit Insurance Fees during 2018 and also there have been increases during the 2017 season in Medical Fees and Local Government Rates.
Entries received after the closing date will be surcharged £20.00. Please note that for on-line entries the closing date will be one week later than for normal postal entries. A non - refundable deposit of £50.00 or the full Entry Fee must be enclosed with the Entry Form.
Please note Cheques will NOT be accepted on Race Day
Any Entry received without any payment will be returned.


Practice and Races on Race Day


Each class will receive a timed Practice session of ten minutes. Each class will have two races of six or eight laps. Some classes may be combined for either practice or races. Grid positions for both races will be based on the result of the timed practice. REMEMBER - NO TRANSPONDER = NO TIMES = START FROM THE BACK OF THE GRID.
Championship points 1st = 9, 2nd = 6, 3rd = 4, 4th= 3, 5th = 2, 6th = 1, will be scored in both races and all rounds will count.
For the Stars at Darley meeting each class will have ONE race of 15 laps with Championship Points as follows 1st = 36, 2nd = 24, 3rd = 16, 4th = 12, 5th = 8, & 6th = 4.

The Club will have a supply of Tranx 260 transponders to hire at each meeting. The cost of hiring a transponder will be £15.00 per meeting.


Noise Regulations


Darley is extremely noise sensitive and any machine that fails the noise test will NOT be permitted to start the meeting. ACU noise regulations are 105 Dba with no dispensations.


2018 ACU Licence Applications


PLEASE NOTE. For 2018 the ACU have an on-line Licence Application Form. You must add your unique number to the form instead of getting a Club Official's Signature. That Unique number for Darley Members is also your Club Membership Number. For 2018 the unique number begins with 18082.
This Unique Number must also be inserted on any traditional paper application for your ACU Licence.


2018 Darley Regulations and Entry Forms


These will be sent out during the first two weeks of February and after that time will normally be sent with your Membership Card etc. Please look after your Membership Pack as a replacement pack will be charged at £10.00.
